Overview:
Ikaria Island is a long narrow island between Samos and Paros with diverse and impressive scenery. It is mainly mountainous and rocky. But apart from steep cliffs you will find rich vegetation, exquisite beaches and curative springs remained from the antiquity. The island has retained its traditional character and cultural activity, while modern life is concentrated in the capital, Agios Kirikos.

Special Events:
The most important are the Anniversary of the Liberation of Ikaria (July 14th-17th) in Evdilos and the same feast in Agios Kirikos, the festivity of Prophitis Ilias on July 20th, the island's biggest feast on the village of Christos Raches on August 6th and other religious celebrations.
