General information

Tholaria in Amorgos: The settlement of Tholaria is situated 18 km northeast of the capital of Amorgos at an altitude of 182 meters above sea level. It is built near Vigla, the acropolis of the ancient city of Aegiali.

From the village of Tholaria, one can enjoy magnificent views of Kampos and Gialos. The festivities on the first day of July are worth mentioning. This day is celebrated as the name day of Agioi Anargyroi. A church dedicated to Agioi Anargyroi is built at a vantage position at the periphery of the village.
The area of Vigla, the acropolis of early Aegiali with remains of an ancient wall, lies opposite Tholaria.

Two beaches that are situated in the village's vicinity are Megali Vlichada and Mikri Vlichada. One can enjoy the sparkling sea at Aegiali and the nearby beaches of Levrossos, Psili Ammos and Hohlakas are great for swimming enthusiasts. These are less crowded destinations and are appropriate for a relaxing holiday.

Superb choice

What can I say about hospitality of Lily and Argiris, the tastes of all the local dishes made from their own products (pork meat, vegetables),the fantastic drink (psimeni raki) that Lili mades and serves after fiishing your dinner. I have only good memories for every single night I spend at their tavern!!! And last but not least ask Lily to serve you the unique FAVA PLATE (kind of a mushed legume).
