More about Perissa
In addition, it is one of the most popular places in Santorini for beachfront accommodation, with numerous hotels, studios, and apartments that make up a large part of the whitewashed coastal village. Hotels are usually seafront or just a few meters away, while many are family-friendly, too.
In terms of beach facilities, the seashore of Perissa is organized to its most extent, with sunbeds and sun umbrellas to rent. In addition, watersport facilities are also available in the area, offering entertainment at the beach.
An automatic access system has been established on the beach, making it accessible to wheelchair users.
Places of interest that you need to visit in this area include the blue-domed church of the Holy Cross, the ruins of the ancient church Vasiliki Agias Irinis and the Museum of Minerals and Fossils.
It is also possible to hike atop of Mesa Vouno and reach Ancient Thera. On the way to Ancient Thera, you will encounter the chapel of Panagia Katefiani.

markes 13 Dec 2010Most impressing view after calderaTop place to be in Santorini. Not only because it is an archaeological site but also because it gives the most gorgeous view (after the caldera of course!). To get to Ancient Thera, you need a rented car or a taxi and follow the climbing road from Perissa. To my opinion it should be a better organized site with more detailed labels and a museum right next to the site, instead of going to the archaeological museum in Fira to see the exhibits. Greece has the most famous history and the most impressive sites, but it is a pity that no better care is taken of them. Take Akrotiri for example, it's been 5 years since this place closed and it still hasn't open. Let's hope it opens this summer, as announced. Anyway, as for Ancient Thera I can tell you this for sure: you will love the energy of the place and most of all you will adore the view to the beach of Perissa. As breathtaking as Meteora (if you've been there), to make a comparison.

reton32 17 Oct 2010Nice and safeI found this centre quite by chance, a lucky chance! It is located at Perissa beach, just below the cliffs, on the southern side of Santorini. It is an easy and quick access, only a few minutes away from the popular spots of the island, but also there is a mini bus transfer service from your hotel. Moreover, the view from the 9 meters fiberglass dive boat is for you to see. You can check out lava formations, marine life and a small passenger ship that sunk in the bay in the past. This center is also a member of Padi, that guarantees the best quality in equipment and service. The equipments is in a good state and sturdy. Generally, I had a good impression, no problem with anything, and the guide was very helpful. I had dived again in the past, but my sister hadn't tried before and she loved it!

stuart.nicks1 30 Jul 2008A Fantastic ResortWe first visited Perissa August 2007, it was our first time to the
island & the resort. Overall if you are looking for a fairly quiet clean &
tidy place to spend a couple of weeks with family or loved ones I reccomend
it! The beaches were kept clean, the tavernas that sit along the coastline
were very reasonably priced and if you love the nothing more than lazing
around then this is for you. I hope not much as changed as we are packed &
ready to go back in a couple of days time. See you soon Perissa!!
