General information

Golden Beach in Paros, located south of Parikia, is considered to be one of the best swimming and watersports destinations on the island. Chrissi Akti (as it is called in Greek) is a long golden sandy bay extending for 700 meters, famous among windsurfers for its ideal wind conditions.

Its name derives from the fine-grain golden sand it boasts, which people love to walk on barefoot. The sea is just as enjoyable since the waters are azure and crystal-clear. 

The beach is partially organized, offering rental sunbeds and parasols. On the other hand, due to its length, a wide part of the shore is pristine, allowing guests to lay their towels and set up their umbrellas for free. 

Golden Beach also features windsurfing facilities. In particular, the shore is home to Paros Diving Center and Force 7 among others.
Every August, the beach hosts the Professional Windsurfing World Cup, gathering many windsurfing celebrities.

Bars, cafes, and restaurants lie along the beach, while many accommodations are also available in the area.

The bay can be reached from the asphalted road by local buses or private way of transportation.

    Packed with windsurfers
    If you like windsurfing, this is the perfect beach. Otherwise, you might feel that it gets too crowded, especially in high season. The beach bars create a fun atmosphere with their loud music, but I doubt if you enjoy swimming with so many surfers going in and out the sea all the time. Have to admit though that the water was very clean and the sand was very soft. The same goes for the New Golden Beach.
