Parga Greece is a beautiful town in the western part of the country, in Epirus. What's fascinating about it is that although it is a mainland town, its scenery reminds of an island! That’s why it is a popular destination for summer holidays.
Surrounded by lush greenery and the cobalt sea, it boasts a unique natural setting. The Town, which sits on the slopes of a hill, looks like a postcard! Full of elegant two-story mansions with colorful walls, it is incredibly photogenic. The Town is touristically developed, meaning that it has many hotels, restaurants and other facilities.
At the port, you’ll also have the chance to taste the delicious local recipes, as it is lined with many traditional taverns!
The ruins of an 11th century Venetian Castle lie on top of a hill above the town. It's worth a visit! Another castle worth visiting is the Ottoman Castle of Anthoussa, which was built in the 19th century by Ali Pasha.
Many beaches are located close to the town as well. Valtos, Sarakiniko, and Lichnos are the best ones! Their crystal clear turquoise waters and beautiful ambiance never fail to amaze the visitors!
The easiest way to reach these beaches is by boat from the port of the town.
If you are in a mood for nature exploration, you should visit the springs of River Acherontas, which boast a unique natural landscape! If, on the other side, you crave a road trip, head to the nearby Sivota, Preveza and Lefkada. Whatever your mood may be, Parga got you covered!

Parga is a seaside town in the western side of Greece. It gets very lively in summer due to the wonderful beaches and the natural beauty of the region.
Valtos is the most amazing beach in the region. Large in size and with crystal water, this beach is organized and has many tourist facilities. Many studios and taverns line up this place.
On a hill overlooking the town port, there is a Venetian Castle constructed in the Middle Ages to protect the town. This castle is largely ruined today.
In summer there are boat trips from the port of Parga to the lovely islands of Paxi and Antipaxos in the Ionian Sea. These two islands are famous for their exotic waters.
On the left side of Parga is the fantastic beach of Lichnos, with soft sand and exotic water. This beach is lined up with many hotels, cafeterias and restaurants for a full day under the sun.
On a hill above the village of Anthoussa there is a small Ottoman Castle with gorgeous view of the region. This castle is also known as the Castle of Ali Pasha.
In short drive from Parga, there is a region of extreme natural beauty: the springs of Acheron river. There visitors can do sports, like river trekking and rafting.
