MORE ABOUT LEMNOS GREECE

Lemnos is quite a big island off the beaten tourist trail. It stands out for its endless sandy shores, mountainous villages and interesting archaeological sites.
Trivia: According to Mythology, the ancient Greek god Hephaestus used to run a chopper workshop on the island. That’s why the locals built a town named Hephaestia in his honor.

Sightseeing is one of the best things to do, as the island is full of ancient monuments. The Ancient Kavirio is a must-visit! It is a place strongly related to secret religious ceremonies, so it oozes a mysterious charm.
Right below the Ancient Kavirio, there’s the Cave of Philoctetes, a legendary hero who was abandoned there on his way to Troy.
Other must-visits are the Medieval Castle on a hill above Myrina, the island’s capital! In Myrina, you’ll also find a wide selection of hotels, restaurants, cafes and other facilities.

And what can we say about the island's beaches? The endless sandy shores of Lemnos are wonderful! The best part is, most of them are secluded, offering total privacy to visitors.
What’s more, some of the island’s beaches are ideal for windsurfing & kitesurfing, an activity that becomes more and more popular every year on the island!
