How to get to Patmos?

Ferries to Patmos depart from Piraeus port in Athens about 3 times a week. The trip is quite long, it lasts almost 8 hours. Patmos is also connected by ferry with Leros, Lipsi, Kalymnos, Kos, and Rhodes. Therefore, in case you are travelling from Athens and you can't stand an 8-hour trip by ferry, you can reach by plane Rhodes, Kos or Leros and then travel to Patmos by ferry.

There is no airport on the small island of Patmos. The closest ones are those in Leros and Kos.
Leros Municipal Airport receives only domestic flights from Athens International Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos". The flight from Athens to Leros lasts 50 minutes. Upon your arrival in Leros, you should take a taxi from the airport to the port.
Kos International Airport "Hippocrates" receives domestic flights all year round mainly from Athens. Flights from Thessaloniki, Rhodes, Heraklion and Astypalea are carried out frequently, too. During summer, the airport is connected with some European countries as well. The flight time from Athens to Kos is estimated around 1 hour.
In each case, upon your arrival at the airport, you should take a taxi to the port and take the ferry to Patmos.
