Lipsi Town

General information

Town Lipsi: Lipsi Town, the main village of the island, is extended around a safe natural port surrounded by low hills. The main harbor and the square are the most popular spots of the village, where most shops and services are concentrated.

A small town with relaxing atmosphere, here you can admire the traditional way of life, the lovely houses and the long walks among the narrow paved streets of the village. Despite the usual structural activities in the island, the picturesque color of the settlement has remained unspoilt.

The town of Lipsi has a long port promenade that gets very popular in the evenings. This promenade is lined by fish taverns and few cafeterias that constitute the main nightlife spots on the island. There are no bars or clubs in Lipsi except for a few lounge cafes that stay open untill the late hours.

Lipsi Town has many family hotels and rooms to rent, taverns, shops, mini markets and a medical center. The small museum of the island displays artifacts from the 4th century BC till the Hellenic Era.

There is a road crossing all over the island but there are also many beaches that can be accessed on foot from the main town. In summer, and weather permitting, some boats make the tour of the island and stop in lovely beaches and private coves. The port of Lipsi is connected by ferry to Piraeus and many islands of Dodecanese and Eastern Aegean.
