This destination remains undiscovered by international tourism, although it is a hotspot among private yachts. Paxi and the neighboring islet Antipaxi boast spectacular beaches, while the picturesque villages promise a fairytale-like scenery!

To get there, visitors must take a ferry from Corfu or the port of Igoumenitsa on the mainland. The airport of Corfu is the closest one to Paxi. There are also organized tours from Parga.

Paxi is a beautiful island in the Ionian Sea, situated south of Corfu island. Thanks to its proximity to Corfu and the coasts of the Greek mainland, it makes a perfect island-hopping base!

The island has only three little seaside villages, Gaios, Lakka, and Logos. Many private yachts moor at the ports of these villages during the summer, giving a cosmopolitan feel to the island.

The standouts of Paxi are hands down its beaches! Most of them are located on the eastern and northern parts of the island and can easily be reached.

To get to Antipaxos, you have to get one of the daily boats that depart from Gaios port.

  • Gaios village
    Gaios is the capital and main port of Paxi. This is a lovely place with traditional style and lush greenery. The waterfront of Gaios is lined up with fish taverns and cafeterias.
  • Day trip to Antipaxos island
    Next to Paxi is the tiny and uninhabited island of Antipaxos, famous for its exotic waters. In summer there are day boat trips from the port of Gaios to various beaches of Antipaxos.
  • Lakka village
    Located on the northern side of Paxi, Lakka is a nice port where many private yachts moor in summer. The port promenade of Lakka is a lovely place to stroll.
  • Monodendri beach
    Monodendri is a small, partly-organized cove with blue green waters. Most beaches on the island are actually like that and provide a relaxing atmosphere.
  • Harami
    It is a well-organized beach with sun beds and chances to practise water sports. Harami is actually a bay with calm and clean water.
  • Pounda beach
    Pounda is generally not crowded and can be reached through a track road or by boat. Also many sailing boats usually moor there.
