Discover our Map of Ios! Ios is one of the most famous islands of the Cyclades. It is known for its lively atmosphere and party scene. Already from the 60s, when the island was completely unspoiled and rather peaceful, Ios was a destination for the hippies.
Ios is crowded throughout the whole summer period with young crowds who want to have fun relaxing at the endless beaches in the morning and party in the local bars and clubs at night.
Where is Ios? Ios is located between Santorini and Naxos, at a distance of 108 nautical miles from the port of Piraeus in Athens. It is the 9th largest island of the Cyclades, covering an area of 108 km2.
The island is reachable exclusively via ferry as it does not have an airport. Athens, Santorini, Mykonos, Naxos, Paros and many more islands are connected by ferry with Ios, with itineraries being frequent during the summer.
