Greek island hopping tours
Greek island hopping tours in the Greek islands can have many combinations. Most tourists arrive in the airport of Athens and start their island tour from there, usually heading to Mykonos and Santorini, the two most popular islands of Greece. Generally, the island complex of Cyclades is getting much frequented in summer months and receives a large part of tourists.
Paros, Naxos, Milos, and Ios are also getting very popular. As the ferry connection between the islands of Cyclades is good and the ferry ride is short, tourists love to see many islands in their holidays. Many visitors also arrive directly to the airports of Mykonos, Paros or Santorini and start their hopping from there, without transfer via Athens.
Another very popular island group in Greece is the Dodecanese. In fact, Rhodes serves as a major transportation hub for this group, as it receives many flights from Athens, Thessaloniki and from abroad. Also, it has a daily ferry connection with the other Dodecanese islands and serves ferries from Marmaris Turkey. Therefore Rhodes is frequently used as a base for day trips to close islands, like Simi or Halki, and as a starting point for island hopping tours.
Good ferry connection also exists between the Ionian islands. In summer, there are ferries between Corfu and Paxi and also between Kefalonia, Lefkada, Ithaca, and Zakynthos. This allows for day or multi-day excursions during your holidays.
