Although the weather in Thessaloniki is the typical Mediterranean one, characterized by hot summers and mild winters, it characteristically has many drops of rain during winter, between November and March. Besides, some snow can fall in December and January. Temperatures in winter can reach around 0oC or may fall about -5oC when it is snowing. On the other hand, summer is warm and dry. The hottest months are July and August, with temperatures about 30-35C. These months are also the ones with the lesser humidity, while the average sunshine per day is about 9 to 10 hours.
