Thessaly is surrounded by
mountain ranges, Pindus, Othrys, Ossa and Agrafa, encircling a plain that
borders Macedonia, Sterea Ellada, Epirus and Aegean
shoreline.
The Pinios River passes through
the Thessalic Tempi. The Pelion Peninsula, full of
tradition and simplistic charm, and the Meteora monasteries, perched high upon
the hills are worth visiting.
