Chalkidiki is a large peninsula splitting into other three peninsulas, Kassandra, Sithonia and the religious community of Agio Oros (Mount Athos) on the east. When you visit Chalkidiki, don't miss the Carnival of Poligiros on the last Carnival Sunday with the feast continuing on Ash Monday on Kalyves beach, the Cherry Fair on May 15^th-30^th in Geroplatanos village and the Kassandra Festival in the Siviri amphitheatre in Kassandra during the summer.
