Overview:
Thesprotia comprises the
mountainsides of Pindus and the Ionian Sea, the valleys of
Kalamas and the Acheron Rivers. Picturesque villages are to be found, as well
as chestnuts forests, important natural habitats for countless species of flora
and fauna. Apart from these, culture and history are in the whole region to be
seen, traditional characteristics kept until today. The capital, Igoumenitsa,
is the third passenger port in Greece linking the Ionian Islands, the Greek
mainland, Albania and Italy.

the infernal Kingdom of Hades

dead, according to the myth

- Paramithia, the main town of the Souli area
- Psaroudi island
Special Events:
The most famous is the Thesprotika Festival in early August, with local
music, dancing and sport competitions.
