The Traditional Apartments Kamares was built on 1800 the era where the island was conquered from the Enetous. This house then was the first of the village and it was like the castle of the village... The house was made in order the people to be able to fight the barbarians and for this reason the upper level the windows are small so the ladies to through hot water or oil to the barbarians. In order to gain their autonomy they create at the lower level 2 big storage rooms and 2 tunnels as an easy way out to the sea.The walls are made from stone 50-55 cm in order to stand to the fights. The Hotel is situated in the middle of the island in the village Aroniadika very close to all the coasts and special villages. Since 1987 this house was renewed from Panayiotis Mavrommatis as an apartment hotel and was the first Traditional Hotel of the island.
