Overview:
Patmos, since 2000, has
been one of UNESCO's Monuments of Global Heritage. The island is mainly
mountainous with rocky terrain and a number of small caves. Religion plays an
important role in the inhabitants' life and the island's culture, while modern
influences and tourist infrastructures are also to be found. Quiet beaches and
nightlife are all offered on Patmos Island.

of Apocalypse, a ten-day Festival of Religious Music early September. The feast

religious celebrations throughout the year are also of unique interest.
