The hotel is hosted in a neoclassical building of the beginning of the 19th century. Originally it hosted the Austrian Consulate. It is located in the city with an extraordinary view of the Gulf of Chania and within walking distance of the Venetian harbour. It has been a hotel for the last 30 years. Today, it has been fully renovated.
It is well-known for its warmth, friendly atmosphere and Greek hospitality. Prominent politicians and artists have chosen Doma for their vacations in Chania.
The rooms are furnished with simplicity and taste with all the modern comfort, including a bathroom. They all have a view either of the sea or the hotel garden.
On the third floor, the dining room and the bar overlook the bay. The furniture includes important treasures such as photographs and antiques dating from the 19th century, everyday-use artefacts collected from all over the Island as well as a remarkable collection of locks and Turkish objects.
On the ground floor, in the area of a small bar, there is a rare collection of headdresses from all over the world, in particular from the Middle and Far East and Central Asia.
