Overview:
Fokida is a rough, Doric
land, as witnessed by the impressive archaeological sights, and at the same
time warm and hospitable. The natural beauties compose interchanging
landscapes, ideal for walking. The region, in the heart of Roumeli, welcomes
the visitors to admire the nature and signs of human presence over the
centuries.

Special Events:
Brilliant cultural
festivities take place in all the Fokida Prefecture. Some of them
are: the Carnival Celebrations (Amfissa Carnival), the game of the "Hidden
Treasure" and the night of "Ghosts", the well known "Smearing one another with
flour" in Galaxidi, "Ash Monday feast" in Itea, the "Trawl" celebration in
Eratini (in May) and the "Wine Festival" in Gravia (in August).
Of course plays and concerts
in the ancient stadium of Delphi, as well as art exhibitions
and lectures in the European Cultural Centre of Delphi and other Centers are
certainly worth it. Don't miss the "Delphinia" sports events in Itea every
summer including the Pan- Hellenic and International water polo tournament.
