In 1978 a group of Greek Shipping Companies founded the Hellenic Marine CONSORTIUM (HMC). A few years later in July 1981, some of the members established the CONSORTIUM Tourist Enterprises Ltd, which changed in 1998 to CONSORTIUM HELLENIC AIR TRANSPORT & TOURIST S.A. with trade name CONSORTIUM TRAVEL (CT ).

A few years after, 2 respected group of companies, Vernicos Group and Vafias Group, took over the control of CONSORTIUM TRAVEL.

In order to offer the best possible services at competitive terms in 2006, CT made a commercial partnership with Amphitrion Travel, one of the biggest and most respective tourist organizations of EU.
