Overview :

Limnos Island lies between Mount Athos and Asia Minor, and has received various influences that left their mark in historical sites, architecture and cultural life. The island has retained the traditional way of life and its beauties wait to be discovered. Picturesque villages, beautiful beaches, virgin fields and lakes with flamingos amaze the visitor, while only Myrina has a tourist infrastructure.

Special Events:

Mainly religious festivities take place in Lesvos villages, such as the feast of Agios Ioannis (June 22nd), the feast of the Saviour (August 6th) and the Feast of Virgin Mary (August 15th). The custom of burning wreaths ("kakanoures") is held on May 1st, while during the summer traditional dance festivals take place in Kondopouli village.
